These terms govern your use of the VexBill mobile application (“the app”). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.
§ 01The app
VexBill is a personal expense and bill-tracking tool. It uses AI-assisted optical character recognition to extract information from receipts you photograph or upload, and stores the resulting records in your private cloud account.
§ 02Your account
You need a free account to use the app. You are responsible for:
- the accuracy of the information you enter,
- keeping your login credentials secure,
- any activity that happens under your account.
You may delete your account at any time from inside the app (Profile → Danger zone → Delete my account). See our Privacy Policy for what gets deleted.
§ 03Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the app to break Indian law or anyone else's rights,
- attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile or extract source code,
- upload illegal content, malware or other harmful material,
- abuse the AI scanning service with non-receipt content for purposes other than tracking your own expenses,
- use the app in a way that imposes an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
We may suspend or close any account that violates these terms.
§ 04GST and accounting disclaimers
The GST report and CSV export are provided for your personal record-keeping only. They are not:
- a substitute for filings prepared by a chartered accountant,
- a guarantee of compliance with the Goods and Services Tax Act,
- a tool for direct filing with the GST portal.
You are responsible for verifying any financial figures against your original bills before relying on them, and for engaging a qualified professional for actual statutory filings.
§ 05AI-generated output
VexBill uses Google Gemini to read receipts. The text, item names, amounts and tax breakdown returned by the AI may contain errors. By using the scan feature you understand that:
- The AI is a tool, not a guarantee.
- You are responsible for reviewing and correcting any extracted information before treating it as accurate.
- The cost of running the AI is included in the app's operating expenses; we may rate-limit or change AI usage policies in future versions.
§ 06Your data
How we handle data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the app you also agree to the practices described there.
§ 07Service availability
We try to keep the app available, but we don't guarantee uptime. The app depends on third-party services (Firebase, Google Gemini) that may have their own outages.
We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the app at any time. If we discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data first.
§ 08Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law:
- We are not liable for any loss of data, lost profits, business interruption, regulatory penalties, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
- Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose (the app is currently free, so this cap is
₹0).
§ 09Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The “Updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Continued use after a change means acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via the app where reasonable.
§ 10Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Chandigarh, India.
